REVIEW – Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Super Bowl Spot Review

The complaints I had for the first rebooted Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie were mostly in its “have my cake and eat it too” attitude. It wanted to be a silly kids movie that would sell toys but still look “gritty” enough to maintain the attention of its teenage audience.

I say if you want to sell me toys then give me the best damn toy commercial you can make. It looks like I’m gonna get my wish.

This 30 second tv spot doubles down on the fan service given to us in the first trailer. Even longtime, passionate Ninja Turtles fans had given up on the notion that they would ever see the Technodrome, Mandroid and Krang in a live action movie. Rightly so, Krang bears an unfortunate resemblance to male anatomy.

However, we are living in a wonderful time; we are going to see the leader from Dimension X in all his pink, lumpy glory on the silver screen. What a time to be alive!

Now, I have no idea if this movie is going to be good or bad but I can tell you this: I’m actually going to see this movie in the theater instead of waiting until its inflight entertainment on JetBlue. Congrats!

Check out my video review below where my friend Leo and I discuss the trailer a bit more. Thanks!
