The original Guardians Of The Galaxy was a breath of fresh air in a genre that is constantly under threat of imminent implosion. While I think that bursting bubble is a valid yet ultimately unnecessary worry due to MARVEL Studios’ efforts, particularly GOTG, it’s nice to be proven right. I missed these characters, I missed the fun they’re having, I was glad to see them especially since most movies in the 21st century think fun is a four letter word.

I’ve also missed proper teaser trailers that don’t feel the need to spill the beans or collapse under the weight of their own self-importance. A crowd-pleasing song and a few solid jokes are more than enough. This trailer is so elegant that going on and on about it would seem almost inappropriate.

It was fucking awesome. I’ll see you next May.
