REVIEW – Suicide Squad Trailer #2

I cannot recall another movie, certainly not one in recent history, where every single trailer released has each had their own distinct vibe and story to tell and still managed to be better than the last.

The first trailer established that David Ayer wasn’t effing around and wanted us to know that he was taking the concept of a tactical team made up of incarcerated supervillains quite seriously. The next one assured us that it would be fun. Seriously fun. So fun that Jai Courtney gave us the biggest laughs of the entire trailer. Seriously.

This trailer wanted us to see that this Suicide Squad will manage to be a #squad.

There’s charismatic and entertaining performances awaiting us in August, not to mention the requisite chemistry needed to really pull off these ensemble comic book films. It’s a smartly constructed trailer , addressing every area of concern I had had about this film:

Will Will Smith still get to be any kind of fun or charming as Deadshot? Yes.

Will Harley Quinn bring any kind of skills to a fight beyond pointing a gun or will she be yet another reason to look at Margot Robbie’s amazing body? Hell yes. Girl has been  working on some Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow moves.

Will Jared Leto really be okay as Joker? Really? Yes. He’s menacing and violent but the fact that we see so little of him in all of these trailers makes me think that there are truly depraved things waiting for us in the movie. I can hardly wait.

Will Killer Croc look convincing? Yes. He’s the most beautiful and terrifying thing in this entire trailer.

Will Diablo just mope and set things on fire? Yes, but he also probably has one of the best jokes in the movie. Plus, those face tats are fire.

I’m so sorry, I couldn’t stop myself before I wrote it and to delete it would seem dishonest. You guys should know the terrible truth about me…

There’s no telling if this will be the last trailer for “Suicide Squad” since they’ve only got a few short months before it hits theaters and they may start releasing TV spots and/or behind-the-scenes featurettes instead. I certainly hope not.

Check out the video review below to see my first ever trailer reaction and review after that. Thanks!

  1. Yes, horribly in all the loves. She does ‘know what’. I want to see this movie yesterday and also never because I know once I see it, I can never see it for the first time again.

    Kloveyoubye!
